Description:
This view relates to an engraving published by James Whittle and Richard H. Laurie in London in 1814. It was one of a group of watercolours sold by Messrs Puttick & Simpson in London in March 1918 by one William Kettle apparently acting on behalf of the firm of Whittle & Laurie. [ref: Tim McCormick First views of Australia 1788-1825 1987, pp.175, 278]
The goal is visible to the right of the bridge while Government House can be seen up the slope in the centre background.
