The Thorburn family at Meroogal, Nowra, in 1891: standing at the back, left to right: Kate Thorburn, Mary Susan Thorburn, Belle Thorburn and Tom Thorburn; seated front, left to right: Robert Taylor Thorburn, Bruce Stafford, Georgie Thorburn, Tot Thorburn and their mother Mrs Jessie Catherine Thorburn. Bruce Stafford was the child of Margaret Stafford, nee Thorburn, the sixth Thorburn sister. She died in 1886.
Tot Thorburn recorded the taking of the photograph in her diary for Tuesday 13 January 1891: "Uncle & I went to Nowra & the Thorburn family got their group taken, also one of the house."
