Description:
At the time this photograph was taken Braeside was the home of Mrs Elizabeth Janet Campbell McMurtrie (1868-1931), widow of James Muir McMurtrie (1849-1901), and a member of the Sydney firm of McMurtrie & Co Ltd. The house was built around 1900 following the 1899 subdivision of the Woollahra Point Estate, with a frontage to Lady Martin's Beach. The address of the property is now given as Point Piper.
