Description:
This carte-de-visite is one item within a small album containing photographs of members of the extended Rouse and Terry families. Jane Emma Terry (nee Peters) was the wife of Richard Rouse Terry, third son of John Terry and his wife Eleanor, nee Rouse. He was born in 1838 at the Terry family property Box Hill near Windsor, New South Wales. Jane was born in Brixton, Surrey, daughter of William Peters, a merchant, and his wife Jane Judd. She married Richard Rouse Terry at St Matthew's Parish Church, Brixton, in March 1864.
