Rennick, Esther Nina, 1910-1990.
Terry, Jessie Arminella (Bonnie), 1893-1976.
Market Street (Sydney, N.S.W.)
Description:
Jessie Arminella (Bonnie) Terry nee Thorburn (1893-1976) was the only daughter of the Rev James Thomas (Tom) Thorburn (1860-1935) and Miriam nee Macgillivray (1853-1924). Her mother and aunts were close friend of Bessie Rouse, and Bonnie was a frequent guest there from childhood. In 1922 she married Bessie’s grandson Roderick Buchanan Rouse Terry (1899-1980) and they had two daughters. Esther Nina (Nettie) Rennick, nee Clark, later Mullins (1910-1990) was the only daughter of Nina Lenore Bird (1883-1963) and her husband David Clark. Nina was the stepdaughter of John Arthur Buckland (d. 1931), who owned Clydesdale at Riverstone near Rouse Hill House and Box Hill House. On 20 December 1933 Nettie married Captain (ultimately Colonel) Oliver William Rennick (d. 1983), and they moved between bases in Sydney, Maitland and Darwin. The couple divorced in 1951 and Nettie subsequently married motor tyre retailer Herbert Arthur Mullins, who died in Forbes in 1956. Nettie was a close friend of the Terry family, frequent visitor to Rouse Hill, and guest at the wedding of Miriam Terry (Bonnie’s daughter). She was a statuesque woman (6ft 2in) and stylish dresser, and often featured in the social pages, as did her aunts Rita Thompson, Doris (Doll) Clayton and Dorothy Buckland (granddaughter of Edward Terry of Eastwood).
